Love / Relationships

May 28, 2008, the lesson is on love and relationships. Evang. Graves opened the class by reading of the Ten Commandments and noting that the first 4 Commandments deal with our relationship with God; while the remaining 6 Commandments deal with our relationship with mankind. We know from previous lessons, that God does not expect us to adhere to the Ten Commandments as given by Moses on Mount Sinai, but rather, Jesus' commandment given to the "Church" in Matt. 22:36-40; Mark 12:29-33. Our focus was on Agape love, i.e., God's love. Next week, Phileo and Eros.

Backsliding ... It doesn't just happen?

Backsliding, 4/9/08: Understanding the total plan of salvation -- that Christ died to secure your position in the Kingdom, is vital! I am convinced that too many Christians do not understand that we have a “Full Coverage” Life Assurance Policy.

There is no time that God turns His back or leaves us¾even if we sin (miss the mark); it does not cancel the Policy! There is a clause in the Policy that is found in 1 John 2:1-2 that says, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: ²And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” Many souls have been eternally lost because of not having this knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Does this mean that we continue in sin or keep practicing sin (Rom. 6:1-2)? God forbid...No!
